This project is associated with the Jeffersontown Wastewater Treatment Plant Elimination Project.
The force main will be installed down the middle of Galene Drive and Maple Road, and will require a phased road closure strategy to manage the local and through traffic. Local access will be maintained for the neighborhood while through traffic will be provided a main detour during the duration of the project. Five (5) phased detours will be implemented in stages as the project progresses along Galene Drive and Maple Road and will provide the local detours needed to navigate the neighborhood, schools and churches.
The five (5) phases are scheduled as follows and should take approximately two (2) weeks per segment barring any unforeseen issues that may arise during the construction process.
Phase 1 – June 16th-June 29th, 2014 – Galene Drive, between McClan Court and Emerald Drive
Phase 2 – June 30th-July 13th, 2014 – Galene Drive, between Ethelwood Drive and Calais Drive
Phase 3 – July 14th-July 27th, 2014 – Galene Drive, between Calais Drive and Sue Helen Drive
Phase 4 – July 28th-August 10th, 2014 – Galene Drive, between Sue Helen Drive and Maple Road
Phase 5 – August 11th-August 18th, 2014 – Maple Road, between Galene Drive and Old Six Mile Lane.
MSD assures every effort will be taken to keep disturbances to a minimum.
