The meeting will be held on October 23rd from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the McMahan Fire Department (4318 Taylorsville Road). Lt. Rich Pearson of Metro Police’s Narcotics Division will be on hand to teach residents how to spot signs of a meth lab and help the police fight this type of crime.
In 2011, Metro Police officers came across 107 meth lab locations in Metro Louisville. Not all of these labs were located in homes, some were found along the roadside and even in cars as part of a mobile operation. It appears that 2012 will outpace the number of locations found last year, so community participation is vital in helping the police crackdown on this increasing problem.
