Case Updates

Our Victim Services Specialist can assist victims in obtaining information about the case (if it will not interfere with the investigation), the arrest of a suspected offender, and the filing of charges against a suspected offender.

Criminal Justice System

Our Victim Services Specialist can assist victims in navigating the criminal justice system by helping victims develop an understanding of the criminal justice system process, court language, possible criminal justice system outcomes while providing emotional support through accompaniment to line-ups, interviews, and other investigative appointments at victim’s request.

Protective Orders

Our Victim Services Specialist can help victims understand the different types of protective orders and assist in the filing process. Most commonly, protection orders require an abuser to stay away from the victim. Protection orders require that you have a domestic relationship (e.g. spouse, romantic relationship, blood relatives, roommates).

Protection orders can be obtained by going to the 1st floor of the Hall of Justice, Domestic Violence Intake Center (DVIC). The DVIC is open 24/7 and provides two main services to victims (EPO/IPO filing and Criminal complaint filing). For more information visit the Kentucky Court of Justice Domestic Violence Intake Center
