About:
Officer Steve Fisher began his Law Enforcement career in 1996 with the KY Department of Corrections and transitioned to Jefferson County Corrections in 1998. Officer Fisher moved on to the Louisville Division of Police in 1999 where he served in the Patrol Division, Housing Authority, District Detective Unit, Homicide CIS, and District Resource Unit. In 2003, Officer Fisher was the first officer to be assigned to the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Unit for the Western District of Ky.
In 2008, Officer Fisher was hired by the Jeffersontown Police Department and assigned to Patrol Division. He was promoted to Detective in 2009 during which time he earned Master Police Officer status and served on the United States Secret Service KY Financial Crimes Task Force. Officer Fisher was promoted to Criminal Investigations Sergeant in 2015. He retired as Sargent Fisher in 2017 and returned to the Jeffersontown Police as a Patrol Officer / Field Training Officer in 2018. Officer Fisher was assigned as the JPD’s Community Resource Officer in June 2020.
Officer Fisher is a graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park H.S. Studied Criminal Justice at the University of Louisville. He is also a U.S. Army Veteran, a graduate of the Academy of Police Supervision at Eastern Kentucky University DOCJT, and holds four Certifications from the KY Law Enforcement Council. Officer Fisher is active with the Special Olympics Torch Run, Norton’s Childrens’ Hospital Christmas, and is a member of the Kentucky Colonels.
