Certified City of Ethics

What does this mean? Certification under the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Certified City of Ethics Program is a way to recognize cities and city officials that have adopted principles and procedures that offer guidance on ethical issues, and a mechanism to resolve complaints at the local level. In addition, this program increases public trust and confidence in city governments and their services through the training and recognition that this program promotes.

We are pleased to announce the City of Jeffersontown was designated as a Certified City of Ethics on January 26, 2021.

By completing the training, the City Officials of the City of Jeffersontown, as a group and as individuals, agree to subscribe to the following ethics principles and pledges to conduct its affairs accordingly:

  • Serve the public interest, not our own
  • Be ethical and professional
  • Communicate effectively and respectively
  • Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of hold public office
  • Be fiscally responsible with city resources
  • Create an environment of honesty, openness and integrity
