Major Brittney Garrett joined the JPD in July 2007. She served four years as a late-watch patrol officer and three years as a mid-watch patrol officer prior to her promotion to Administrative Sergeant in August 2015. She was promoted to Administrative Commander in March 2018.
Major Garrett oversees communications, civilian staff, information technology, community projects, and administrative duties. She also coordinates the Jeffersontown Angel Program, an innovative community initiative that connects persons struggling with addiction to treatment in lieu of arrest. She also serves as a National Police Council Member for the Police Assisted Addiction Recovery Initiative (PAARI).
Major Garrett received her Bachelor's Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville and her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University-Global Campus.
