Members & Terms
The Board of Trustees consists of seven members, two elected by firefighters (serving a four year term), two elected by property owners (serving a four year term), and three appointed by the county judge / executive or mayor (serving a three year term) in a consolidated local government.

Public Attendance
We welcome members of the public to come to our meetings. We want to hear from you. If you would like to be added to the agenda, please submit your written request to the administrative assistant at 10530 Watterson Trail by the close of business on the Wednesday before the next scheduled board meeting. Please outline your specific topic(s) of discussion within the written request.

Open Records Request
Please be advised that the minutes of the Jeffersontown Fire Department monthly trustee meetings will be available by completing an Open Records Request Form, pursuant to KRS 61.872.

Requests must include a precise description of your petition and whether or not you prefer to view the records at the administrative headquarters of the department or you wish to have the records mailed to your home address. Please note that any fees and costs of mailing will apply and are payable prior to release of this information.

Additionally, as outlined in KRS 61.878, applications may be denied if the records are in use, places an unreasonable burden to produce the records, or repeated requests are intended to disrupt the essential function of the Fire Department.

Applications are available from the fire chief, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm at:

Records will be provided within three business days of receipt of the request.
