The City
of Jeffersontown Building Department is responsible for the review, inspection, permit issuance, and
approval for all new buildings including industrial, commercial,
and residential. The Building Department also issues permits for
alterations, modifications, and renovations. The City of
Jeffersontown requires all Mechanical and Electrical Contractors
to be licensed in the City of Jeffersontown in order to obtain a
permit.

Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All inspections are
required to be requested 24 hours before the inspection is needed
by phone, fax or e-mail. To provide a better service to all
citizens, we are available the first Monday of every month
from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. to accommodate those who can not make
regular business hours.
The guiding philosophy of this
department is to partner with businesses, contractors, and
individuals to assure compliance with all state and local
regulations that govern such activity.

Code Enforcement
The City of Jeffersontown has a
Code Enforcement Officer who is responsible for the enforcement
of City ordinances relating to abatement of nuisances for
example, the accumulation of rubbish, uncut grass, and similar
